The early years
The pictures below are from the mid-1990's and onwards. The older shots were done the 'old-fashioned' way with film and I had to scan photographs to get them into this site. The newer photos are with a digital camera.




The seeds have a high germination rate of over 90% if they are fresh. The plants above are less than six months old. New leaves emerge with a red color that is masked by chlorophyll as they mature.


These are one to two year old seedlings, still under shade cloth. The two year old mangosteens can be planted out in full sun. Younger trees can go out into the field but must be provided shade.


Three to four year old trees acclimated to full sun.
